from 679 reviewsI want to preface that I am very sensitive to wool. And these still itch a bit for me. But the fit is so good that even that issue is mitigated somewhat. And they start far less itchy than pretty much every competitor so far.
First, these fit snug. I have large calves and thighs and these conform perfectly to them. What surprised me is the stretch of the nuyarn. The form fitting is so close that the fabric doesn't really move at all. This is what mitigates itch. When wool moves across my skin, it can feel like sandpaper. The stretching this does typically doesn't create that feeling.
I have been trying to find multi-sport base layer that fits for my home gym training, cycling and just general active comfort. One problem is I am typically a medium in bottoms and an XL/2XL in tops. Like a pear on stilts. The way I wear most lowers is pull them up and then let the band fall at my hips. These are lower rise and simply pull up to just above my hips. For me, that is perfect. The only minor issue is that deep squats can cause the rear waist band to get pulled down a bit.
Finally, they are 7/8 length. This is genius. The combination of slightly shorter length and low rise means there is exactly zero bunched material anywhere when I wear them. And my crew socks can be pulled over them to create a seal if that is desired. The minimal but sufficient stretch from nuyarn is just enough to leave 100% mobility.
Non-fit comments: The red is a bit much. I don't mind standing out, and often most/all of them could be covered, but it is like stop sign bright red. I probably would have preferred the green, but it was out of stock in my size.
Weight: I was looking for something closer to 200 g/m2 fabric weight. In fact, I ordered the 1/4 zip as well and that is *exactly* the weight I wanted. Feels a bit substantial while still being very light. (that one is *way* more itchy to me partly because it is slightly less fine micron, but also because my upper body is more sensitive to wool than my lower).
These taught me how tights should fit. I have never had something feel like such a wonderful second skin before. For the record I have tried patagonia peak mission, janji trail tights, a dozen wool options from icebreaker to rei and plenty of store brands like under armour (honestly, the next best fit and the only one of those I kept). Of the wool ones, some may have had similar fit, but they didn't get past the itch test ( many I can't tolerate for more than a few minutes).
They make me wish I don't have such sensitive skin. But these get my approval. And, thus far, the only product I have liked that contains wool. I am still not sure I can keep them. But, in the past, I have been able to treat wool to make it more tolerable. It may be worth doing that. If it works I would probably buy several more.
All around spectacular if it is the desired fit/material.
I was looking for a merino shirt in red and found it here at Wuru. I’ve only worn it a couple of times so far, but really like it. It’s soft and seems to be well made. I particularly like the length of the shirt because it’s almost like a tunic rather than a standard crew neck t-shirt. It runs true to size, at least it does for me. My only complaint is the very small tag on the hem identifying it as being from Wuru. I was able to remove it without damaging the shirt.
The neck warmer and the shirts are perfect for added warm but don’t get overheated in them. Light and breathable wool. Have given a lot for gifts and all love them too. Even though they’re all in different parts of the country. Great product and love supporting small businesses!
I ordered the hunter green version. It's a dark, nice color of green and goes well with most everything. The size of the hat is perfect for me and feels good even while wearing sunglasses. The wool is light weight yet heavy enough to not feel fragile.
I love the new relaxed fit 100% merino women's tshirt! The fit is tts; I take the same size (medium) as the women's 100% merino short sleeve shirt.
The big differences, I find, between the two styles in the fit are that the relaxed fit has: higher crew neck (AKA this also means smaller opening), shorter length (top to bottom), and wider in the torso (or straight cut from the chest down). On me the two fit the same in the shoulders and the chest. All this to say that I like both styles and I'm glad to have another option that works both for outdoor activities and travel.
Bought this for my husband and he loves it. I’d say it’s true to size. Material is really nice and it looks great.
Just what I wanted. All wool, great color, nice enough to wear every day.
Soft , comfy , I use all my merino wool clothes for work and dinghy cruising and camping
These socks feel so good! And they stay on—no slipping off. Love them!
I have multiple of the original short sleeve shirts, which I love for hiking and wearing out and about - particularly with leggings since they are slightly longer. The cut of this shirt is also great, but different- shorter and less fitted. I've paired with jeans and leggings and looks equally great with both! Currently debating what my next color will be.
I get blisteres even in well worn in boots but putting this wool in my liner sock worked a treat! No blisters on my forst hike of the year and it felt very comfortable against my skin!
I love my grip 6 ankle socks. They are the most comfortable sock I own and make my feet feel great! Very warm in the winter but comfortable when active.
I’m an overpronater so have always been prone to blisters on the inside of my feet from friction while running. I’m training for another half marathon after taking a year off running due to pregnancy, and noticed blisters forming as I upped my mileage. I stumbled across the blister wool and thought it was a great idea - I already use wool running socks! I slather Bag Balm on my blister-prone areas and then put the blister wool over it and carefully put my wool socks on. The wool forms little flat clumps when I’m done that easily peel off my socks. It works great for preventing new blisters! I’ll be telling my active friends and family about this stuff!
